My Running Story:

I somehow went from a 5k fun run to thinking it would be a great idea to sign myself and my geocaching/camping friends up for 100 mile ultra trail relay. I mean what could possibly go wrong right? We were such fish-out-of-water with the whole “running” part. We showed up in tutus and cute running attire, then we saw the trail. What, What.. we are supposed to go in there? We learned quickly what the term single track and technical trail meant. Wait we need headlamps? We are going to run through water? We are supposed to climb that muddy rock pit? Btw did I mention that not only had none of us done more than a 5k fun run but I was the youngest at 47 years old🤣. Anyhoo.. somehow we didn’t die and I fell in love with a sport that would lead me on some awesome adventures. I have done a trail marathon, a few 50ks and a 50 miler. I’m also working on running a half in all 50 states. I’ve met some of the greatest folks along the way and am now training for my second attempt at a 100k in January. I’m ordinary, slow and a goofball but am having the time of my life. Oh and at least one of my original relay friends still talks to me #winning!!
